Welcome to Karuna Space.
At the heart of everything we do here is karuna, meaning compassion. I am Karan, a passionate explorer of life and a dedicated practitioner of yoga, meditation, breathwork, dance, and music. Growing up in India has profoundly shaped my worldview, instilling in me the belief that everything happens for a reason and contributes to a greater good.
Like many children in India, my early focus was on traditional education, which led me to Germany in 2014 to pursue a PhD in Biophysics. Serendipitously, it was in this new western environment that I rediscovered yoga and spirituality, reconnecting me to my roots. This journey has been transformative, filled with experiences that have shaped my path to where I am today.
With deep curiosity about both the self and the world, I have embraced a journey of continuous learning. Each year has brought immense growth, and when I reflect on my journey, I feel humbled and grateful to all the teachers and individuals who have guided me along the way. Their wisdom has illuminated different paths to the same destination, particularly in yoga, meditation, conscious connected breathwork, embodiment, contact improvisation, Chi Nei Tsang, Ayurvedic Yoga Massage, sound healing, ecstatic dance, and music.
Karuna Space is my humble offering to bridge science and spirituality, East and West, creating a harmonious space where these worlds can converge. It is also a place to give back to the community and share the knowledge and teachings that have transformed my life. I believe we come into this world with nothing and leave with nothing; everything we have is borrowed. My aspiration is to leave the world a happier and more compassionate place than I found it.
I love stories and see life as a tapestry where we are all characters playing our parts. I find joy in meaningful connections with others while also appreciating moments of silence and solitude. As an avid traveler, I spend half of each year in Mama India, immersing myself in the teachings, culture, and community of this beautiful land, which has deeply influenced my journey.
I invite you to join me on this transformative journey of discovery, service, and connection. Together, we can explore the profound ties between ourselves and the world, playing our part in this intricate web of consciousness, embodying compassion, and contributing to the well-being of humanity.
